Programs
While implementing its international linkages, University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman shall serve as a regional and global university in cooperation with international and scientific unions, networks of universities, scholarly and professional associations in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world; Internationalization is aimed at establishing and maintaining cooperative relations with foreign universities and other foreign-based academic institutions. These engagements are aimed at enhancing UP Diliman (UPD)’s presence among an international community of scholars.
The International Linkages Program serves to fulfill the University’s obligation to pursue universal principles while relating its activities to the needs of the Filipino people and their aspiration for social progress and transformation (Section 3 RA 9500).
The program translates in operational terms the University of the Philippines’ Strategic Thrust 1: Academic Excellence in Education, which provides for intensifying Internationalization (UP Strategic Plan 2011-2017). Internationalization activities should promote two-way sharing of knowledge that will permeate the various academic programs.
UP Diliman currently has over 140 active agreements with over 140 institutions all over the world covering student, faculty and staff exchange, and other academic activities. See a list of international partners here
